Leslie Lyons - President

Leslie Lyons is a stay at home mom with three boys, ages 14, 12, and 7. She is married to Phil, who works at UW-Stout in Menomonie. She moved to Eau Claire in 2007 from the St. Louis, Missouri, area. It was a big change for her family that they were nervous about. Now they can’t imagine living their lives anywhere else. They love the Chippewa Valley! They love how friendly everyone is and all of the family-oriented activities that are available. Leslie has been involved with Junior League for six years and it has given her the opportunity to learn about organizations in Eau Claire and the surrounding area and find ways she can give back to the community. Junior League has also given her the opportunity to meet some amazing women and form lasting friendships. Junior League has not only helped her learn about the community; it has helped her become part of it! She is looking forward to an active year with League as we continue to find and meet the needs of the community while we have some fun along the way!


Val Bestland - President Elect

Valerie has lived and worked in the Eau Claire area for nearly 14 years. Valerie stays busy working full-time on the Mayo Clinic’s helicopter, shuffling three children to school and sporting events, as a board member of her children's school PTO, and as an active board member of Junior League Eau Claire. This will be her second year on the JLEC board and she is excited to be this year’s President Elect. Valerie really enjoys volunteering and what it teaches her. She is looking forward to the next few years and how JLEC can impact our area.


Linda Holzhausen - Past President

Linda has lived in the Eau Claire Area since marrying her husband Steve 24 years ago.  She was raised in Woodbury, MN back when it only had one high school and attended the University of Minnesota for 2 years.  Linda graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1987 with a BS in Psychology.   Linda was a stay at home mom for a daughter and son for 8 years and when they started school, she began her 10 year career working in the activity department in a nursing home.  Linda returned to school when her oldest went away to college, taking classes in Eau Clare and Menomonie for her Social Work Certification and is currently the Social Worker at Fall Creek Valley Care Center.  She has been involved in Junior League since 2008.  Linda has always believed in volunteering and looking for ways to make our community a better place to live.


Jessica Stoneberg - V.P. of Communications

Originally from Kent, OH, Jessica met her husband of 20 years, Troy, an Eau Claire native, in the Army. Jessica and her family moved to the Eau Claire area 16 years ago where Jessica attended UWEC and gained her BBA in Marketing. Since moving to Eau Claire, Jessica’s parents and her four siblings have also relocated – from Ohio and California. Jessica works at Marshfield Clinic as a Clinic Implementation and Training (CIT) Specialist and absolutely loves her job. Jessica enjoys travel, crafting and almost anything technical. This is Jessica’s second year in the Junior League and her first year on the Board.


 

Katie Reid - V.P. of Community

Katie was born and raised in Durand, WI and has lived in Eau Claire for the past 14 years. Katie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communication from Winona State University in 1998 and an M.B.A from UW-Eau Claire in 2006. Katie is employed at Kelly Services, Inc. as a District Manager, where she has worked in a variety of roles for over 14 years. In addition to Junior League, Katie is actively involved in the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is a Junior Achievement volunteer. Katie has two children – Max and Madeline that attend Lakeshore Elementary School in Eau Claire.


Linda Torres - V.P. of Membership

Linda has lived in Eau Claire for over 18 years. She graduated from UW Eau Claire with a B.A. in Psychology and received a Masters degree from UW Stout in Special Education. Linda has been married to her husband Darius for 12 years and they enjoy traveling and outdoor activities. Linda currently works as the Member Loan Supervisor at Royal Credit Union. Linda joined JLEC in 2011 and has really been enjoying her JLEC experiences and the contributions that the organization makes to the community.


Jenn Newman- V.P. of Finance

Jenn has lived in the Eau Claire area for the past 3 years. She has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Management and Design as well as Eastern European History. She is currently employed as the Operations Coordinator of the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra. She is fortunate to have a loving husband, Karl and two wonderful boys, Keaton (5) and Katurian (4). They are also expecting a new addition to the family in November! They currently have two birds; Vash and Stampede, a rat named Batman and a fish named Franklin. Her youngest has great ambitions to start a zoo. She enjoys eating Camembert and apple sandwiches, playing marathon board games, and reading. She likes listening to music and making candy. She loves hiking, gardening, biking, crocheting and Tetris.


Adrienne Dorig Leland - Treasurer

Adrienne moved to Wisconsin in 2010 when her husband, David, accepted an offer teach at UW Eau Claire. She is originally from Southern California and embraces her new home in the Midwest. Adrienne has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design and worked for a few firms before launching her business, Dorig Designs LLC, in 2008. She specializes in kitchens and baths and loves helping people enjoy their homes. Her hobbies include baking, knitting, and playing the ukulele with the Ukulele Klub of Eau Claire. This is Adrienne’s fourth year with Junior League and she is excited to utilize her past volunteer experience as treasurer, and at the same time help the community with new leadership skills.


Julia Lokken - Recording Secretary

Julia has lived in Eau Claire for over 16 years. She graduated from UW Eau Claire. She and her husband, Andrew have two children, Lydia and Lucas. Julia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and enjoying the outdoors. She joined Junior League in the fall of 2013 and has met many wonderful women through the organization. In addition, the volunteer opportunities through Junior League have been very rewarding.
