Although as a single mom she doesn’t have the spare time she once did to devote to service work, Amber loves being involved with JLEC.

Tara Geske

Tara Geske - Treasurer

My husband and I moved to the Eau Claire area six years ago when we were married.  I held a position that would allow me to live anywhere in Wisconsin or Minnesota, and my husband was able to find a family-friendly position here in town.  Eau Claire also puts us in close proximity to our parents residing in La Crosse.  I am currently married and caring for my two toddlers.  With the kids being so young, my current activities are those I can enjoy together with the kids.  However, I do enjoy golfing, reading, hiking, and trying new activities outdoors.  My greatest desire right now is to take a step back and enjoy life and what my husband and I have worked so hard for:  to help my family and close friends be happy and healthy.   This desire is one of the reasons I joined Junior League.  Another reason for joining is my ability to put my previous professional experience working with families and individuals in need to good use.  From my professional experience, I have seen firsthand how organizations like the Junior League meet both the short-term and long-term needs of families in the community.  My hope in joining Junior League is to continue my involvement in community outreach and help solve problems facing families in our community.  I have found community outreach volunteering to be some of the most challenging yet rewarding work – I look forward to continuing the adventure of improving our community.

Kelly Nordstrom

Kelly Nordstrom - Recording Secretary

Kelly was raised in Eau Claire and moved to Madison to attend pharmacy school at the University of Wisconsin.    She met her husband, Chuck, there and they initially lived in Milwaukee.  Since Chuck and Kelly are both from Eau Claire, they decided to move back to the area in mid-2006.  They now have a three-year old son and one-year old daughter.  Kelly still works per diem as a pharmacist a few days per month.  She enjoys anything outdoors, tennis, music, shopping, reading, traveling, and trying new restaurants.  Kelly joined JLEC last year to meet women making a difference in our community.  She is looking forward to more volunteering and her board involvement this year!
